about me

I have a passion for understanding human hearing and the use of technology to aid those who experience deafness or hearing loss.

In 2021, I was awarded fellowships from the Belgian American Educational Foundation (BAEF) and FWO to study under Dr. Tom Francart and Dr. Astrid van Wieringen in the experimental Oto-Rhino-Laryngology (expORL) laboratory at KU Leuven in Belgium.

Before that, I obtained my Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Rochester with a research focus in auditory neuroscience. During my masters I independently conducted a research study on the "effects of audio-visual congruence on the auditory brainstem response to speech".

Also, I have past experience in research on the study of the inner ear and the cochlea through the use of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). This research was conducted at Texas A&M University.
